15:1 LEGO BATMAN
My most recent project, made using a great variety of techniques including 3D modelling and printing, MDF prop construction, fabric manipulation, and good old fashioned sculpting/moulding/casting. At 74cm tall, he's 15 times bigger than a real LEGO Batman minifigure, and my nephew has dubbed him a "Megafigure"
REALISTIC NIGEL THORNBERRY MASK
This was my first silicone mask, and features intrinsic colouring with pigments and flocking, doll eyes, a thermoplastic internal shell, handmade teeth, separately moulded and cast gums and ears, and hair punching. The majority of the head was covered with stretch faux fur patterned and sewed into a cap, and then individual hairs from the same fabric were punched at the hairline, eyebrows, and mustache.
NOTRE-DAME INSPIRED POLYCARVED GARGOYLE
This was inspired by one of the stone gargoyles on the Notre-Dame Cathedral, and is carved out of expanded polystyrene, covered with scrim and pva, painted using acrylics.
THE LAST JEDI CARETAKER LATEX MASK
This latex mask (and the accompanying costume) was made over the course of three days and features kit bashed eyes. It was sculpted in WED clay over the course of 10 hours, moulded in hydrocal plaster in 3 parts, cast in mask making latex, and painted using prosthetic adhesive and acrylic paints.
ABOUT ME
I am a 24 year old Canadian maker who grew up in Switzerland and now lives in the UK. I've been playing with a sewing machine since I was 5, and started dabbling in special effects when I was 11. I've always had an intense passion for making things, whatever the form of that may be. I absolutely adore sculpting, making anything that has a face or a personality, and challenging myself to make things that stretch my skills.
